Summary numbers on this website are calculated using NCLB reporting rules. These calculation methods are different and often result in differences in school and district calculations as found on the department’s CMT and CAPT online reports (www.ctreports.com).

Below are four of the primary reasons why they are different.

  1. Students who moved after October 1 are not included in the school or district performance calculations for AYP. However, these same students are included in CMT school or district performance calculations.

  2. Modified Assessment and Skills Checklist students are counted in performance and participation calculations for AYP school or district calculations. However, these students are not included in the CMT school or district performance calculations.

  3. Students who receive invalid scores on the CMT are included in school and district AYP report calculations for performance and participation. However, these students are not included in the CMT school or district performance calculations.

  4. The data on CT Reports is updated mid-school year, while the data on this website reflect AYP determinations made prior to the start of the school year as required by federal law.
